CKPC Member only court time
With our partner St. Clair College Chatham HealthPlex we have secured court time for CKPC members on the following dates and times
Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 am – 12 noon
Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 am – 12 noon
Friday, Oct. 25 from 6 pm – 8 pm
Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 am – 12 noon
Friday, Nov. 29 from 2 pm – 4 pm (Christmas Party this night)
Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 am – 12 noon
Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 am – 12 noon
Saturday, Dec. 21 from 10 am – 12 noon
As this is a CKPC rental of court time our members do not have to use a punch card or pay the day pass fee at the reception desk!
2019 Fall Pickleball League October and November
New time for Sunday League Play is 1:00 pm to 3:45 pm with 30 SPACES AVAILABLE FOR INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED PLAYERS 3.0+ on
5 Sundays in October and November – October 13, 20, 27, November 10 and 17 from 1:00 to 3:45 pm.
NOTE: The HealthPlex closes at 4 pm sharp and all people must exit the building BEFORE 4 pm.
NOTE: No league play on Sunday, November 2
FORMAT will be to play in groups of 4 or 5 playing rotating partners each game.
Players will be initially ranked by the convenor and will be grouped for matches with similarly skilled players as much as possible. Weekly the players will be divided into pairing of 4 or 5 people, depending on the numbers who are playing each week. Should not require substitutes with this plan.
Groups of 4 each player will play 6 games, 2 with each person first to 12 points (72 points total)
Groups of 5 each player will play 4 games, 1 with each person in group first to 18 points (72 points total).
Players and groups will be re-seeded weekly by the convenor based on the previous week results and best judgement of the convenor.
League play is open to non CKPC Members but CHATHAM-KENT PICKLEBALL CLUB 2019 – 2020 MEMBERS RECEIVE A $10 DISCOUNT ON LEAGUE PLAY!

Welcoming new players
To new players the HealthPlex offers on MOST Tuesday mornings for Beginner only pickleball sessions from 9 am to noon. Ron Rush and Jay Salisbury hope to attend when possible offering free instruction and tips. One or both of us will be there Tuesdays in October beginning Oct. 15.
Note Tuesday Oct. 8 is drop in pickleball for everyone due to Monday, Oct. 7 being Thanksgiving Day and the HealthPlex is closed.

CLINICS with Sid and Carolyn Stevens
CLINIC 1 – Working as a Team for skill Level 3.0/3.5
Saturday, October 19 from 12:00 noon – 1:30 pm at St. Clair College Chatham HealthPlex
Format: Instruction, Practice, Fun Game, Personalized Feedback
Requirement: You will need to sign up with a partner or you will be partnered with someone at your level. This clinic will be of interest to those who feel they have the foundational shots for pickleball down and now want to use strategy to help set up and win more points.
Instructional Clinic
This training will focus on strategies for partnership play. This includes court coverage, shot selection and sequencing along with neutralizing opponent’s strengths and playing to your team’s strengths.
Game Play Feedback
You will have the opportunity to put into practice what you have learned. You will receive personalized and partnership feedback on your game play – covering what you are doing well and ideas to help take your game to the next level.
The session will focus more on the strategy behind your shots/play and less on technique.
Clinic Size: Using 4 courts the maximum size of the clinic is 16 with an instructor to participant ration of no greater than 1:8. Clinic size needs to be in groups/multiples of 4 (ie 8, 12, 16 participants)

CLINIC 2 – Foundational Shots – Technique and Strategy for Skill Level 2.0/2.5
Saturday, October 19 from 1:45 pm – 3:15 pm at St. Clair College Chatham HealthPlex
Format: Instruction, Practice, Personalized Feedback
Requirement: Participants will have knowledge of the rules of the sport and will be comfortable and competent playing games with and against a variety of players

This training will focus on the start of each point and progress to touch shots. We will cover both technique and strategy around these foundational shots.
